i promised peepee that i would blog lotsandlots cause she's in rexburg all alone for all of christmas break. hasn't happened. so hi.

uhhhh not sure i have much else to say?

look. i just like christmas break. i like it a lot. today jason described my day as follows: "i imagine you wake up in the morning, and go downstairs, and your mom feeds you french toast. and then you bake all day with your mom and then you deliver christmas treats at night and that's pretty much your day."

and all i would like to say about that is, exactly. that is exactly my day. and i really like it.

christmas break is wonderful because "getting ready" in the morning consists of changing out of my yoga pants and in to leggings. christmas break is wonderful because every 3.5 seconds the doorbell rings and someone's brought us food. (no, really, just kidding, you can keep bringing us food.) christmas break is wonderful because my mother and i run errands together and sometimes my dad stays home from work and we all make caramel all day long like a big happy family. minus the big part. there's only 4 stockings on the fireplace. weird? i think yes.

christmas break is not wonderful because it's not snowing and is not going to snow before christmas. uhhh whaa? isn't that, like, the one good part of minnesota in the winter?

i'll answer that for you. yes. yes, it is.

i've learned a lot this week, mostly about creating webpages, writing mcom reports, and cramming for exams. but mainly i would like to share the three highlights.

1. stephen's limited edition pumpkin spice-flavored hot cocoa will not be returning in future years, because i can guarantee that nobody will buy a second jar of that shiz. seriously. imagine warm carrot juice. that's what it looks like. it's been four days since i drank it and i swear i can still taste it in my mouth. so. gross.

2. if you laugh at girls every morning for their skirts being all staticy and caught in their tights, like this (please note that that is her slip and not, in fact, a skirt):

don't wear tights and a skirt to school. karma, baby. i had a very, very long walk across campus this morning with a very slippery skirt..

3. having a roommate is kind of fun. bri's moved into my apartment for a few days so she can study for finals. and it's fantastic. who knew?! ps if anybody knows anybody who is looking for an apartment winter semester, lemmeeknow. this is approaching emergency status.

can it be christmas already?!

oh gosh

i'm having a long week.

yes, it's only tuesday.

no, i'm not taking classes.

yes, my job consists only of working on the computer.

no, i haven't been in rexburg for more than five days in a row this entire semester.

but yes, i am tired of this week.

i am tired of rexburg and i am tired of my brain being full.

also i am tired of not having things that i have to do.

it gets old.

i'm ready for the weekend.

sunshine and 70 degree weather?

yes.

please.

oh wait. it's only going to be in the sixties and it's probably going to rain?

ehh. who cares. get me outta here :)

i skiied.

it has been such a perfect weekend, no joke.

i went to snowbird with my family to go skiing. i absolutely love my family and i didn't even mind skiing this time :) we went to alta and i put on my new white snowpants and it wasn't half bad. i went down some black diamonds (which i usually steer very clear of.. i don't like going fast. don't laugh.) which was impressive for me! but then bri made me go down this one that i wasn't very happy about and i just was positive i couldn't do it.. but i was already part of the way down. so some nice old austrian man came up behind me and gave me a ski lesson the whole way down. it was so cute of him. and i made it. even through the moguls, thank you very much. i even stopped snowplowing that much. :)

so i was proud.

you might think i look extremely awkward in this picture. that's cause i do. don't worry about it.

also, happy birthday to my mom on friday. she is the best mom i could have ever asked her and i love her so much. she's incredible.

i have a new passion..

and it is snowshoeing.

i really, really, really love snowshoeing. you might point out that i have only gone snowshoeing twice in my life. but do you know what? that is not the point. i am in love. and as soon as i get a job this semester, my first paycheck will be spent on my very. own. snowshoes.

ps do you love my new snowpants? because i definitely do.

my christmas break was perfect. we went to colorado to my grandparents' house, and it was so fun. zack came and spent a week with us, which was fantastic. grandma and grandpa brought us all to see hello, dolly! at a dinner theatre. dinner theatres are for sure in my top five favorite things. also, i got my uggs for christmas and i have been wearing them nonstop since then :)

for new years we went to wyoming, where my aunt and uncle live. it was so fun! we played a lot of games (my new favorites are uno flash and anomia. check them out, seriously.), went skiing, sledding, and shooting, and had a really good time.

i like breaks.

and i like my new roommates.

(and i am especially glad i am living with chelsea again this semester. i love that girl.)

i think this semester will be pretty great :)

well.

the semester is ending..

..and i can't say i'm sad.

at all.

last week was my last week at my early field experience first grade classroom.

loved those kids.

so boyfriend and i went to their christmas program.

i dare you to find cuter christmas donkeys.

(christmas donkeys? what the heck?

yeah, i don't get it either.)

today i love..

i was a little bit early this morning while walking to class

which gave me a few minutes while campus was empty

just to think,

which i don't do nearly enough of these days.

i just had such a feeling of gratitude, for everything about my life

and especially about this school.

i love byu-i.

i love

crisp winter mornings

warm wool mittens

a dad who will take time to talk to me

only having nine days til i go home

christmas lights

the scriptures, general conference talks, and the power of prayer

homemade mac and cheese

sisters who really want me to be happy

my incredible friends

starting class with a prayer, and letting the gospel be a part of class discussions

having a car that works

lindt truffles

a mother who always knows when i need her

that there are only exactly four months until i get married to my best friend

i'm siiiiick :(

my throat hurts.

and i'm exhausted.

i think i'm getting sick.

so that's going to be fun.

on the bright side, i drank my first hot chocolate of the season.

i like hot chocolate.

except when i burn my tongue.

which is, to be honest, every time i drink hot chocolate.

oh well.
